Summer Clinic

Registration is open for the summer lacrosse clinic led by former alumni for rising 2nd - 8th grade boys and girls. 

  • Grade based groups with small instructor to player ratio
  • Skills clinic will focus on stick skills, dodging, shooting, defensive footwork and technique
  • Location: Masuk High School turf field
  • Time: 6-7PM
  • Dates: 6/10 - 7/16
    • Girls - Mondays (6/10, 6/17, 6/24, 7/1, 7/8)
    • Boys - Monday (6/10), Tuesdays (6/18, 6/25, 7/2, 7/9)
    • *Makeup if needed 7/15 and 7/16
  • Fee: $125

1st Annual Connecticut Lightning All Star Game

Monroe Lacrosse Association is excited to host the 1st annual All Star Games for 3rd and 4th grade boys and girls at the Lightning level. Each town/program invited is encouraged to nominate 2 players per grade (8 players/town) to play in the regional All Star game at Great Hollow Lake in Monroe on the following dates and times.

  • 3rd Grade Boys Game: Tuesday, May 28th @ 5:30PM
  • 4th Grade Boys Game: Tuesday, May 28th @ 6:30PM
  • 3rd Grade Girls Game: Wednesday, May 29th @ 5:30PM
  • 4th Grade Girls Game: Wednesday, May 29th @ 6:30PM
  • $30/player and game pinnie will be provided

Monroe Lacrosse Association

Monroe Lacrosse Association, Inc. (MLA) promotes lacrosse among youths residing in Monroe, CT through grade-level programs, if possible or combination grades as a member of the Connecticut New York Lacrosse Association (CONNY). MLA is open to all interested participants, by teaching fundamentals of the game and promoting good sportsmanship, respect for all participants and teamwork, and by cooperating with the Masuk High School lacrosse programs. MLA is an active member of USA Lacrosse and the Positive Coaching Alliance.

2024 MLA SEASON INFORMATION

Registration:

  • 12/11/23 - 1/20/2024

Rosters & Practice:

  • Breakdown of teams/rosters will be communicated the week of 2/12
  • Practices will be scheduled between Monday - Thursday. The schedule for each travel team will be communicated in March after approval from Monroe Parks & Recreation.

Winter Training:

  • Girls: Juniors 5/6, Seniors 7 & Seniors 8:
    • Location: NYA Sports & Fitness, 4 Primrose St., Newtown
      • Saturday, 3/9 (6-7PM)
      • Wednesday, 3/20 (6-8PM)

Girls:

  • Senior Girls 8: Sunday, March 24th

Bantam (Grades 1&2) Teams:

  • 2 practices/week @ Great Hollow Lake, 90 min. each
  • 1-2 games/week
  • 8 - 10 total games not including tournaments/jamborees
  • 2 tournaments
  • $175 includes uniform and winter training

Lightning (Grades 3&4) Teams:

  • 2 practices/week @ Great Hollow Lake, 90 min. each
  • 1-2 games/week
  • 10 - 12 total games not including tournaments/jamborees
  • 2 tournaments
  • $275 includes uniform and winter training

Junior (Grades 5&6) Teams:

  • 2 practices/week @ Great Hollow Lake, 90 min. each
  • 1-2 games/week
  • 12 - 16 total games not including tournaments/jamborees

 Senior (Grades 7&8) Teams:

  • 2 practices/week @ Great Hollow Lake, 90 min. each

 Fiddlesticks:

  • Introduction to the game of lacrosse for boys and girls in pre-kindergarten - kindergarten
  • The program consists of an hour clinic every week; location, day and time to be determined
  • All players require a valid USA Lacrosse membership
  • $75 with a Monroe Lacrosse t-shirt provided

CONNY LACROSSE

CONNY's primary purpose is to promote the game of lacrosse in a safe and sportsmanlike environment. CONNY wants kids to grow up playing a game of speed, position, and finesse, rather than physical intimidation. The goal is to conduct all our activities in a manner that will set an example of good sportsmanship and friendly competition for our young players.
